This is a beautiful film

This Above All, Tyrone Power once again proves what a brilliant actor he was in this film! Joan Fontaine is also wonderful as an upper-class English woman who joins the WAFs during WWII and meets and falls in love with a charming, but troubled, stranger (Power) with a mysterious past. This movie is not only well acted and touching, but also provides an interesting historical window into WWII England. A definite must see for Tyrone Power fans and anyone interested in WWII. Unfortunately, this movie is not available on video. However, for anyone who wishes to see it, I managed to catch it on the Fox Movie Channel, where it is sometimes shown.

A great film

This is a wonderfully acted, compelling love story set during WWII in England. Joan Fontaine’s portrayal of an aristocratic woman who joins the WAAFS and falls in love with a deserter (Tyrone Power) is superb. She is beautiful, tender, courageous, and quite believable as Prudence. Her speech on what England means is eloquent and is one of the highlights of the film. Tyrone Power is awesome as Clive, too. Joan’s character is steadfast in her love for Clive and the chemistry between Joan and Tyrone is wonderful. With the resurgence of patriotism in America this film should be shown more often on the movie channels. Maybe they will catch on soon. A not-to-missed film.

I find that the movie channels are playing the same”classics” over and over again. Can it be that we are running out of old films? I find that hard to believe? I see now that TCM is starting to present films from 1970 as “classics” AMC started doing that about 10 years ago, and frankly I stopped watching the channel.Surely there are so many we can view between 1927 and 1960 that have never been seen on TV. Which brings me to my comments on “This Above All” Very simply put, I saw this beautiful film when I was oh, maybe 15 years old and already a film buff. It was on the 4:30 movie on Channel 4(NYC) in the late 60’s/ early 70’s . I was very touched by the film even then..I am hoping TCM plays it. It would be a long time coming…

DVD is utter crap

DVD is utter crap,it's not genuine and it is a burnt copy with poor quality. I got burnt purchasing this. Buyer beware this shop is questionable

Unholy trinity

Three stars for the movie only. In spite of having leading actors, I was quite
disappointed with the overall movie. Good western movies are quite a
rarity nowadays.
As for the service, Mr. Brady has always delivered and is a pleasure to talk to.

An Oldie but a goody

An Oldie but a goody. Love Robert Duval in any movie. Thought I had seen every movie he was in. This movie is excellent.

Download was only of a portion so useless

Terrible...only about 2/3 of the movie was there.I complained snd got zero response...I would like a refund.

A highly entertaining B-movie!

It may be considered a B-movie, but I found this film to be highly entertaining. The practical effects were great, and the performances by Ally Sheedy and Lance Henriksen were superb!
