Duel at Diablo, Lieutenant McAllister is ordered to transport several ammunition wagons to another fort through Apache territory with only a small troop of rookie soldiers to guard them. Along for the ride is ex-scout Jess Remsberg who is trying to track down Ellen Grange, who, having recently been freed from Apache captivity, has mysteriously run off again to rejoin them. Remsberg frees Ellen again and leaves her with the embattled soldiers as he rides off to the fort, not only for help, but to find the man who killed and scalped his Indian wife.

Excellent Western
Thoughtful Western where both the cowboys and the Indians are shown to be both heroes and villains, and human at heart. Surprising to me for its ability to see both sides in that day and age. Explores the issues of friendship, command, judgment and persecution in the developing West. I found it excellent for its ability to both entertain, provide suspense and also explore the issues instead of just making the "Injuns the bad men" and the "White men the good men." Heroic cavalry lieutenant is ordered to move out green recruits on unbroken horses to get from the fort to the next destination. In the meantime, old cavalry friends, in new roles, reunite to accomplish the mission. The anger and prejudice of Indians against white men and women, and white men and women against Indians are inflamed by both a town woman who has been kidnapped and become an Indian squaw, and a white man who has lost his Apache wife to the lust and violence of others of his own race. Resolved in a way that goes somewhat above and beyond the stereotypical "white hat/black hat" good guys and bad guys.

Very stirring
The movie tried to depict the Apache as the bad guys....But in the underlying theme was the the story that these were Indians forced to live on a reservation, and dealing with it the best way they knew how.The calvary used force on them...so Chata resorted to using force on the Calvary...the sub plot was a story of a woman whom had been taken by the Apache and borne a son to the son of Chata...After a brutal fight at a box canyon the Apache was defeated...Chata surrendered and was seen as a broken man with no hope, and no hope of ever seeing his Grandson again....

Item received was not as described

Item received was not 'starring Helen Hayes' despite her picture being on the DVD, it was actually the version with Joan Hickson. I raised a complaint one week ago but still heard nothing in reply. Very poor customer service.

Fantastic

Fantastic, thank you so much

i purchased this from you several months ago

i purchased this from you several months ago. Unfortunately I never saved it . i owned the dvd that i purchased about 20 years ago.and when my computer crashed lost it a second time. Anyone who buys a movie three times likes it. What you sold me is near DVD quality. Your competition sells it for three times what you charged because once again it's out of print. To boot when the charge three times the price the qualitty is poor. I OWN 10,000videos that took 40 years to acquire making purchases all over the world. I say this to emphasize that you are the only quality shop doing what you do so customers can have confidence when they buy from you. The only problem dealing with you is your supply is limited otherwise I would be our best customer. For the record this is a fact based story with fictionalized characters.

I have used the Rare & Collectables for a few year and find no problem with them. I mainly go for downloads instead of buying the movie.
