Excellent, honest film of the threat of communism
Big Jim McLain showed the legitimate fears of Americans in the 1950's. The democrat apologists for communism still can't come to terms of how tyrannical this system is. Director Edward Ludwig coming from Russia in his youth knew the dangers of Marxism. John Wayne was right as communism has led to 100's of millions of murders by their own governments. Since Ronald Reagan, communism has been burying itself. Big Jim McLain is an earnest effort to show the threat communism posed to us and the world

Duke Comes Up BIG
President Reagan made history on June 12, 1987 and told Gorbachev, "Tear down this wall." Long before that people like Big Jim McCain were on the front lines in this country and around the globe stemming the tide of tyranny. Director Edward Ludwig was the perfect pick as he came from Russia and knew the imminent plague of communism. John Wayne was also a perfect pick as he understood this grave threat on humanity. Wayne combines with an exceptional performance by James Arness as US government agents to counter the Marxist menace. Also in this superb cast are Nancy Olson, Alan Napier, Veda Ann Borg, Hans Conried, John Hubbard, Sara Padden, Gayne Whitman, Robert Keys, Hal Baylor and Paul Hurst. I highly recommend this film..
