Acceptable quality for the time. Enjoyed the show. It would be good if there was a contents on the cover of each series as the episodes are not in order on the discs.

The dvd's arrived in decent time. I was so excited to get them but when I went to play them they didn't work on my dvd player. I am looking into buying another dvd player in the hopes that they'll work. I was really disappointed.
I love this movie my mum got his movie on VHS so I wanted to get it on DVD

You have a wide range of interesting DVDs that I have been looking for and failed to find anywhere else
The movie was just as I remembered it. The only issue was with the first cd which would go blank every once in awhile though each time it was only for a couple of seconds so it didn't bother me that much. The second cd had no issues.
The transfer copy job is excellent based on the source copy now not really available. No real compression artefacts which is helped by the film being in B&W and a running length under 90 minutes
So any compression just to have the movie fit on the disc is extremely minor.
As to the film, it's a solid little western. Joel McCrea is one of those actors who look as if they give nothing to their performance but in fact give much (not unlike Gary Cooper and Clint Eastwood early in their careers). He certainly adds gravitas and the support players don't lack for anything in their performance.
Not a John Ford or Raoul Walsh by any degree but good solid matinee entertainment to while away those late afternoons.

Hello! The problem was the audio. you were kind enough to try sending it again, but it was very low quality and no subtitles, thus the 1-star review. When I said that the quality was too low to really watch the film, I requested a refund. I got no further response and that's where the communication stopped. That's the disappointing truth.

The Long Voyage Home This film is all that a film should be for it dictates that the human condition is in itself dramatic and tragic enough without exaggerated theatrics. This sea tragedy needs no iceberg. What it does contain is excellent cinematography by Gregg Toland, superb direction by John Ford and a superior script based on the plays of Eugene O’Neill. The drama developes simply from a ship being in the war zone during World War Two with a full cargo of ammunition and no escort or weapon for protection–just a twenty-five percent bonus for the crew. The acting is about as good as acting can be: Arthur Shields (as Donkey Man) and Thomas Mitchell (as Aloysius Driscoll) never waver in the characters they portray. They are, without question, so realistic that they live beyond the movie. In effect, they are more than characters on film, they are universal humans trying to make order out of chaos, even if they must create chaos to do so. The main character is the “Glencairn” itself, the ship in the film. Like Greek tragedy, it is the chorus about which the dramatic action occurs. The long voyage home for some of the characters goes on and on, but the long voyage for the “Glencairn” continues like so many other rust buckets. In World War Two, constant danger and possible disaster waited just outside every harbor.
