The List of Adrian Messenger, Messenger asks a friend to check into a list of names before leaving on a trip. When his plane is blown out of the sky, the matter becomes more serious. As his friend checks into the list, each seems to have died in mysterious circumstances. As he goes down the list, the deaths become more recent and a race to find the remaining survivors and what put each of them on this list ensues.

I got it all wrong, but it’s great fun!

This movie’s main box office draw, of course, was its roster of actors playing in disguise. Having made it clear quite early in the movie that the elevator killer, the vicar and the genial neighbor are all impersonated by Kirk Douglas (coldly, intelligently effective as the mass murderer), the film then cunningly obscures the trail by disguising its remaining four guest stars as characters who could as well turn out to be the ubiquitously protean Mr. Douglas as, say Burt Lancaster or Frank Sinatra. Some indication of the glee director John Huston finds in these impersonations, can be made by the fact that one actor is required to be dubbed by a woman, and that Noel Purcell and Huston himself appear among the suspect women in the last, crucial hunting scene, and that another of the suspects is got up to resemble a disguised Tony Curtis (yet Curtis himself turns out to be someone rather different). In fact, I must admit to almost complete bafflement. The only one I got right was Bob Mitchum! As for the rest of the cast: George C. Scott is the personification of Philip MacDonald’s detective, Colonel Gethryn (although the vehicle itself is not one of his best); Clive Brook makes a welcome return as the Marquis; Gladys Cooper and Marcel Dalio are limited, alas, to but one scene; Herbert Marshall says his lines in the usual Marshallian manner; and Dana Wynter is as icically beautiful as ever. In all, a Highly Recommended list!

A very pleasant old movie

A very pleasant old movie, brings back good memories watching this as a kid.
Great performances from all & quite moving at times.

Godless DVD

This was a Chinese DVD. The case was broken and the DVDs were mislabelled, however the picture quality was very good and the show Godless was absolutely amazing. Overall worth it.

DVD is utter crap,it's not genuine and it is a burnt copy with poor quality. I got burnt purchasing this. Buyer beware this shop is questionable

Unholy trinity

Three stars for the movie only. In spite of having leading actors, I was quite
disappointed with the overall movie. Good western movies are quite a
rarity nowadays.
As for the service, Mr. Brady has always delivered and is a pleasure to talk to.

An Oldie but a goody

An Oldie but a goody. Love Robert Duval in any movie. Thought I had seen every movie he was in. This movie is excellent.

Download was only of a portion so useless

Terrible...only about 2/3 of the movie was there.I complained snd got zero response...I would like a refund.

A highly entertaining B-movie!

It may be considered a B-movie, but I found this film to be highly entertaining. The practical effects were great, and the performances by Ally Sheedy and Lance Henriksen were superb!
