This Is Elvis Though several actors portray Elvis Presley at different stages of his life, this documentary is comprised mostly of actual performance footage and interviews with Elvis, his fans and those close to him. His arrival on the national scene, in 1956, is highlighted by clips from “Stage Show”, “The Milton Berle Show” and “The Ed Sullivan Show”. Scenes from several of his 33 films are highlighted including his screen debut in “Love Me Tender” (1956) and the critically acclaimed “King “Creole”(1958), his last film prior to a 2 year hitch in the military. From 1960-68 he kept busy by making films and soundtrack albums, as well as some Gospel albums. After an absence of almost 9 years from live performing, Elvis returned in 1968 to do a TV Special titled “Elvis” and in 1969 performed in Las Vegas for the first time since 1956. This is one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen!

This Is Elvis is an interesting and fantastic documentary to watch even if you are not an Elvis fan.

As an fan, I am very critical when it comes to inaccuracies about his life. I found this documentary to be very accurate and honest with the way it told the story of life. The blend of actual Elvis footage along with very believable reenactments makes the documentary flow with continuity and excitement.

In addition, the song selections that accompanied the various video sequences were always right on the money. It was like watching life story being told through entertaining and poignant music videos.

One thing I respected about the documentary, although difficult to watch, was the way the creators did not try to candy-coat the details of the sad way’ life began to spiral down a self-destructive path during the 70’s until his untimely death at the age of 42.

All in all, This is is a very entertaining, empathetic, and honest look at the life of Presley; the American Icon who rightfully earned the title as the King of Rock ‘n Roll.

A good DVD but episodes out of order.

A good DVD, but the episodes were misnumbered and out of order. Not a problem once the viewer realises and watches episodes in correct order.

Battletruck dvd

I received my dvd of the movie Battletruck a couple of weeks ago but I've been away so couldn't watch it until last night.
Great old classic that brought back a few memories.
I purchased it at a great price and it arrived in good condition and in good time.
