The Night The World Exploded Dr. Conway has perfected a machine which he believes will predict earthquakes, and has determined that one will strike California within 24 hours. He and his patron, Dr. Morton, attempt to convince the Governor but he cannot bring himself to declare an emergency when there is no proof the machine works – which, within 24 hours, it is proven to do. More significantly, Conway is getting readings which indicate a series of additional, pending quakes around the world, which also begin to occur; and more still seem to be on the way. With his assistant “Hutch”, to whose love for him he seems oblivious, Conway takes his equipment to the deepest point of Carlsbad Caverns, in hopes that being closer to the center of the earth will help discern the cause of the earthquake epidemic. It does, when they inadvertently discover a new element which lies dormant in watery pools deep within the earth but, when in contact with air, becomes violently explosive. Super-quake tilts the earth!

Making the impossible seem not so far-fetched.

While “The Night the World Exploded” is a very low-budget film with no-name actors, it is enjoyable. It also manages to make a ridiculous plot seem plausible–and that is no small feat.

The film begins with a seismologist creating a new machine that would help them predict earthquakes. However, the equipment is either faulty OR the Earth is royally screwed!!! Soon, after the big quake, they discover a new element–#112. And here is where it gets crazy. There is a lot of it and the element is VERY explosive–so explosive that the planet may soon go kaboom! That is, unless they enact a crazy plan that just MIGHT work.

While this film offers few huge thrills, it works well. The miniature sets work well and the acting is good. Most importantly, the film is written well and will probably hold your attention.

DVD is utter crap,it's not genuine and it is a burnt copy with poor quality. I got burnt purchasing this. Buyer beware this shop is questionable

Unholy trinity

Three stars for the movie only. In spite of having leading actors, I was quite
disappointed with the overall movie. Good western movies are quite a
rarity nowadays.
As for the service, Mr. Brady has always delivered and is a pleasure to talk to.

An Oldie but a goody

An Oldie but a goody. Love Robert Duval in any movie. Thought I had seen every movie he was in. This movie is excellent.

Only English speaking version that seems to be available, so better then nothing.

Download was only of a portion so useless

Terrible...only about 2/3 of the movie was there.I complained snd got zero response...I would like a refund.

A highly entertaining B-movie!

It may be considered a B-movie, but I found this film to be highly entertaining. The practical effects were great, and the performances by Ally Sheedy and Lance Henriksen were superb!
