Tulsa is a specialist in the US Army stationed in Germany. He loves to sing and has dreams to run his own nightclub when he leaves the army....but dreams don't come cheap. Tulsa places a bet with his friend Dynamite that he can spend the night with a club dancer named Lili, who is rumored to be hard to get. When Dynamite gets transferred, Tulsa is brought in to take his place. He is not looking forward to it, but in order to keep his money, he must go through with it.

ELVIS TURNS ON THE G.I. CHARM!
It's an old story, the guy trying to win over the girl who won't even crack a smile... Remember Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers? Ordinarily, it would be a long, cold winter courtship of sorts, but you can't turn down Elvis. Then again, it won't be easy either as beautiful Juliet Prowse is actually the subject of a great debate as to whether anyone could win her over; she's as cold as ice! Goodness gracious! A lot has been written about Presley's films, and there's plenty of criticism to go around, however, this is a pretty good story and well handled by the KING who does his darnedest to win over an extremely cold shoulder, suddenly realizing that she's the ONE! Also credit veteran director Norman Taurog who mastered these stories going back to the silent era, and, for that matter, went on to direct Elvis several more times, his best effort being BLUE HAWAII, hands down. Very early film credit for Prowse, who is always worth watching. A tv fave generally around Veterans Day and Memorial Day, ya think!
