Debuting in the fall of 1976, “Dolly” was a syndicated variety show that Dolly Parton had out when she first signed with Sandy Gallin, the man largely responsible for making Dolly a superstar. The series, not to be confused with the “Dolly” variety series from 1987 on ABC, only ran one season and approximately 22 shows were filmed. This collection features the best in the “Dolly” series of shows, with the best episode featuring the future “Trio”, Linda Rondstant, Emmylou Harris, and Dolly, singing beautifully and harmonizing like birds in a tree. There is also a rare bonus feature with Dolly singing with Porter Wagoner and his cast on his own show from the late ’60s.
