thrilling, Woods is best psychopath ever, identify with Dennehy
This movie is disturbing. Starts out almost as a "procedural" but grows more thrilling as you begin to discover what the Woods character really is. I identified with the Dennehy character, with his initial skepticism, and growing realization that Woods is what he said he is, and worse. Woods nails the role, the psychopath with pride in his workmanship, with a three dimensional performance that is gripping and frightening. Dennehy is wonderful in the complementary role. The chemistry between them is exquisite. I think this movie will, in time, receive more recognition.

Flynn directs
James Woods is at the top of his game in this thriller written by Cohen. Brian Dennehy is a best selling author who is approached by Woods who gives him a true story. The story he gives him is how Woods himself while working for a large corporation was paid to eliminate the firm's liabilities. Much time is spent convincing Dennehy that what he says is true. Once Dennehy believes Woods' story, he writes another best seller. The plot is interesting, but the viewer must suspend his disbelief. We the the viewers must buy into the main premise that corporations have professional hitmen working for them. Supposing an investigating journalist gets a scoop that such and such a corporation uses false research data to market it drugs. Would that reporter get shot dead? In this film that would be the case. Yes, this could occur in a corrupt corporation. The plot works and is very fun viewing.
