Mrs Miniver The Minivers, an English “middle-class” family experience life in the first months of World War II. While dodging bombs, the Minivers’ son courts Lady Beldon’s granddaughter. A rose is named after Mrs. Miniver and entered in the competition against Lady Beldon’s rose.
Mrs Miniver Gobells regarded this as the greatest propgander film of all time. It showed an ordinary family coping with all the pressures and adversities associated with wartime. How it gave strength to their resolve and raised the morale of not only the Miniver family but the whole of both the civilian and milatary population
A film which justifies its status as a major classic.
